I said no corporation associated with watchtower meaning that watchtower is not making money off of these items. I made that point because people on this thread immediately said it was a way for watchtower to make more money. I said what I said to highlight watchtower does not make money off of them.

I do apologize. Appartently color is not part of the trademark. The trademark that is specific to jw.org is
Indication of Colors claimedColor is not claimed as a feature of the mark.Description of MarkThe mark consists of the stylized letters "JW.ORG" within a square design, where the characters "JW." appear above the "ORG". -

Watchtower can voice their displeasure of people making. Which they have, they have repeatedly informed witnesses not to make or wear these items with either the watchtower logo or the jw.org logo. But that is all that they can do is to get people to stop using it. As long as they aren't breaking trademark law there is nothing that can be done from a legal standpoint.

No corporation associated with Watchtower makes these. Though it is impossible for Watchtower to stop it because of how the technical trademark is displayed with the trademark office. The trademark is a Square background in a very specific color of blue for it to be in a violation of a trademark. And SCOTUS ruled in Moseley v V Catalouge Inc. that a trademark violation is only valid if the two trademarks are so similar that a reasonable person would not be able to differentiate between the two items.

Honest Questions About Child Abuse
by Richard Oliver ini have two honest questions for everyone here.
i understand that most here want retribution from the courts against watchtower for child abuse allegations.
but let us take away the instances where someone was accused of child abuse and then later put back into a position of authority, such as an elder or an ms. let us just take the cases where a regular publisher or even an appointed person, with no previous accusation of child abuse has come up against that person.

OrphanCrow. I did not insult any person. I gave my opinion. The closest thing that I did was correct one person by informing them that Watchtower does not have a fiduciary responsibility, and provided evidence that Judges view it that way. I have been insulted in fact because I to toe the line of wanting Watchtower to be destroyed. Do I think that there are problems? of course. Do I think that the right way is by suing them? I do not. I have also researched this issue with actual reviews of briefs, decisions on summary judgments and other legal proceedings. So many people here think that it is an automatic win against Watchtower, but honestly there are more losses than there are wins. Even in the Conti case the state appellate court ruled that a congregation has no duty to warn and that there is a difference between misfeasance and malfeasance I presented actual facts but no one wants actual facts, everyone wants emotion to win, emotion is great, but law is what stops actions.

Thank you everyone. I been looking at this site for a while. Though I will never go back to meetings. I know that I can't be apart of these X-JW communities because it doesn't seem like anyone apart of these communities can move on. I think this just proves that for my own mental health I need to just move on with my life.

Incognito. The reason I brought up low age of consent was that so many people think it that the law is clear cut that if something is impral or disgusting then it is there full unlawful. I was trying to highlight that the law is complete and as a society of people, we need to work with legislative bodies to protect children.
Data dog. I feel that at times yes there are instances where certain actions by elders have endangered other children. Do I honestly believe that it is policy? Honestly I don't. But are there stupid people who have endangered children further. My point is that it is a complete issue that requires actual steps and not just expecting lawsuits to solve the problem.

Data dog. I am not sure if I am not making my point. I understand the difference between a law and a principle and that is great for a moral code but it does not affect civil law. If something is immoral but not illegal doesn't mean the police can do anything.
To illustrate let's look at how for a long time it was not illegal to hire young children in dangerous settings. Is it moral to put young children in dangerous working conditions, I don't think so. But let's say someone went to the cops and told them that an employer is endangering a child, what would u want the police to do. They can only enforce actual laws not moral laws. So in the same instance in countries with low age of consent what do u want police to do, if something is not against the law.

Outlaw. Do u really think that I believe that the lawsuits will just dry up because some new laws are passed. That is just crazy to think. My point is that we as a society of people should work with legislatures to pass laws to protect children.
Also u think that the lawyers who are fighting for these children are all saints. I do believe that some do want to do the right thing, but also plenty do it because guess what a third of a bug settlement is a lot of money. Some lawyers just want to make the buck and don't care what happens to their clients in the long run. And if u think that all of them just want to do the right thing, you are kidding yourself.

I have been not going to meetings for a few weeks as I delved deeper into these stories from primary sources. And like I have said I at one time tried to defend watchtower but I can't anymore. Though I personally feel that the way to get change is through legislation and not the courts.
Just because people here feel that it is a waste of time to get new laws made because u feel that no matter what watchtower won't follow them. I think that if legislators make laws with teeth it would help. I look at facts and not just allow emotion to take over. Of course this is a sad and sensitive subject, but finding solutions to sad and sensitive subjects still require practical and thoughtful way.
